‘Native Soul Project' is a reggae-inspired, dub, electronic project combining Californian bassist, Alison Wunderland & New Zealand singer, songwriter, producer, Carla Werner. The pair met in Los Angeles in 2015 and played their first show together at reputed ‘Reggae on the Mountain’ festival, going on to play many shows and supports in Southern California with the likes of reggae heavyweights Piracy Conspiracy, Soul Syndicate (Fully Fullwood, Santa Davis, Tony Chin), Easy Star All-Stars, Albarosie and Sly & Robbie. The pair toured New Zealand in January 2020, previewing and promoting songs from the forthcoming debut album with local hero’s ‘Knights of the Dub Table’ and ‘Regan Perry’. Carla is in final production mode of the album, completing the album under quarantine in New Zealand and currently working remotely with various musicians and producer/artist, Paddy Free of Pitch Black (Salmonella Dub – Dub Plates Producer) on a remix of their first single ‘One To Ten’ [released August 22, 2019]. Recently the band underwent a name change from 'N8VSOUL' to non-abbreviated 'Native Soul' in respect and honor of indigenous cultures.
